Tip #1: Know who you are writing for? It’s all about connection. Whether it’s for yourself or for your readers, you get to be clear as to WHY you want to write your book in the first place.

When it comes to our own books, we can have these blinders on of not being clear what readers will love about it.

Wherever you are…in writing your books…I want you to pause and just think about them.

Are you really clear on who a particular book is for?

Whether you’re traditionally publishing or self publishing, be really clear and have a plan.

Tip #2: Start marketing now. The sooner you begin marketing the better. You do not have to wait until your book is all the way written before you market it. Start now.

Hearing that someone wrote a book or had a baby and not even knowing they were writing a book or pregnant is very anti-climatic.

When we are included, we are part of their story. Exclusion is never fun and that’s why it’s never too soon to start marketing your book.

Tip #3: Be willing to impact others. Sharing our journey from start to published and beyond has a huge impact on our children, other family members, friends, co-workers, and even within our local community.

The best way to impact ourselves and others is to no longer write in isolation, and that’s why I created the FB group Unstoppable Writers where we learn from each other as we get clear, take action, and share our writing journeys.

We learn how to…

  • Test our ideas
  • Share as we work
  • Ask for specific feedback and know what to do with that feedback
  • Build excitement and find our own readers

I would love to hear from you in the comments. Which of these 3 tips are you going to put into action this week? Tip #1 Know why you are writing. Tip #2 Start marketing now. Tip #3 Be willing to impact others

Unstoppable Writers Facebook Group

  • Unstoppable Writers is the place where we learn how and where to share the excitement of an upcoming book project.
  • How to give people behind the scenes glances, and not just build a community of writers. We learn how to build a community of readers within our own sphere of influence.
  • We gain the confidence to announce our books before they are written. Showing bits of our work and sharing our struggles along the way is not just for the members in the Unstoppable Writers group.

Sharing with family and friends gets them sharing with their contacts. Setting launch dates makes everything feel real and exciting. It keeps us from heading to the hospital in full on labor and deciding, nope, I’m going home, I’m not doing this. Too late mama!

If you need any creative ideas or sneak peeks at your project, you will be surrounded with plenty of creative people. Watching what other people do will give you ideas for what would be fun for your fan base.

No fan base?

No problem. That’s what I’m good at teaching and even creating for myself.

I don’t want the world to be shocked and surprised that you have this book out. I know the power of building excitement before it’s even published.

I want you to learn how to share your journey as it unfolds, and give you the space to ask questions within a community of people who are ready to cheer you on.

Unstoppable Writers are people who are learning how to stay motivated in ways that are authentic to who they are and how they operate best in the world.

I’ve seen the impact on writers of being more courageous, and yet it’s not just the writer who benefits. It’s their children. A child observes ‘their parent’ focusing on a project and seeing it through to the end.

The impact on our kids is huge, and they love to be a part of the excitement. They have loving hearts and know when we are afraid. Watching us move through fear and uncertainty is powerful. It’s a huge life skill to be able to attempt new things with confidence.

It’s an extremely brave and vulnerable thing to put our words out into the world. We will never completely know the beautiful impact our words can have on our communities, and even our peers at our work. Just being brave enough to write and publish a book blows people’s minds.

Writing a book is not something that we need to do in isolation. It’s a way to remind us of the importance of connection.
